Business and Management

New Undergraduate Students (1st year)

Welcome to the School of Business and Management.

We’re so excited you are joining us. To get you started here’s some important information you’ll need to become familiar with before you arrive.

Getting enrolled at the School of Business and Management

This is an important part of our Welcome Week induction programme for you to get enrolled at the School of Management. This is separate to Royal Holloway’s Welcome Week registration process which you need to do first. Our enrolment takes place in the Moore Building (the home of the School of Management on campus) and is timetabled specific to your programme.

Please see the Welcome Week Induction timetable links here to find out where you need to be throughout the week, and when to collect your welcome pack (links not currently live, please check back soon for up to date timetables):

Peer Guides are students who help other students. Our Peer Guides are second or third year students from the School of Management, who have insider knowledge of the School, the campus and the local area. If you think you could benefit from having a personal peer guide, you can contact one of our Peer Guides here.

Getting involved at the School of Business and Management

There will be plenty of opportunities to meet and chat with School staff during the week, as well as a number of experiential activities taking place, such as the team building task, the treasure hunt (exciting prizes to be won) and a self-guided group trip into central London.  These engagement activities will give you the chance to get to know your fellow students and make new friends. Make sure that you fully participate in everything that is on offer and make time for evening social gatherings, as Welcome Week is all about developing the new friendships you will carry forwards during your time here.

We do not advise you to buy books before classes start, our state-of-the-art library is well stocked and we are increasingly using e-books and journals that you will be able to access for free once you have registered.  If you are really keen to get your teeth into some pre-learning, then you can take a look here at our non-compulsory reading list link: 1st Year Summer Reading Lists

Lastly, but most importantly, please read and carefully learn your new Student Handbook.  This details critical information on how your University experience will work, what is expected of you, and cruciually what you can expect from us in the School of Business and Management, including how to access support when you need it. The Student Handbook can be accessed via the link below:

If you have any queries regarding your Welcome Induction Week here at the School of Business and Management please email us.
