English language and university preparation courses

International students at Royal Holloway can benefit from a range of English language and university preparation courses to help them succeed in their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Most of these are delivered by Royal Holloway's Centre for the Development of Academic Skills (CeDAS) who have been delivering these courses for over a decade, while the International Foundation Year is delivered on campus by Study Group. If you study one of these specialist on-campus courses, you'll enjoy high-quality teaching and personal support from experienced staff.

Pre-Masters Diploma for International Students

This nine month programme is for international students who need to develop their academic English and study skills for postgraduate study in the UK.

Pre-sessional English Language Programme

If you have a conditional offer to study at Royal Holloway and need to develop your academic English and study skills before the start of the academic year, join us on this short programme (four, eight or 12 weeks).

Academic English language support

We offer a range of Academic English courses, workshops and one-to-one writing tutorials to give you extra support. 

International Foundation Year

Delivered by Study Group, this 10 month programme is aimed at international students who need to develop their subject knowledge, academic English and study skills for undergraduate study in the UK.
