Research impact

Research impact is about making  your work useful to people, organisations and society at large.  It comes in many forms and is quickly becoming a major part of the academic landscape, including growing requirements on impact from research funders and the UK government. These events will equip you with the knowledge and tools to develop the impact of your research outside academia. They’re suitable for academics at any stage of their career, whether you’re looking for a refresher or are new to the topic.  

Topics include:

Creative and cultural organisation partnerships

A chance to meet representatives from a selection of national and regional organisations in the creative, cultural and heritage sector.

Media sessions

A media lunch led by Royal Holloway's PR team and focusing on PR/comms support available at RHUL, good practice in media relations and tips for success, followed by a Savvy Storyteller hot desk to help researchers on specific projects and papers.

Partnering with Schools for research, Impact and Engagement

This session offers advice and guidance to academic colleagues wanting to take their research into schools or to develop existing school-university partnerships

Savvy Storyteller Hotdesk

- A drop-in style hot desk where academics can ask any questions they have on media relations
