Find information on submitting a photo for your Student ID Card

Your Student ID Card

Your Royal Holloway Student ID Card is proof of your identity at Royal Holloway. It's also your access card to campus buildings, your Library card, Campus Account card and your Students' Union membership card.

For all students starting a new course, we ask that you submit a passport style photo for your Student ID Card so we can prepare your card for you.

For more information on what your Student ID Card is used for, visit our Student ID Card FAQs

Submitting a photo

It's important you upload a suitable image for your Student ID Card, please see our Photo Selection Guide for full details and examples.

  1. Log into Campus Connect using your Microsoft 365 ID, which is your username with ‘@live.rhul.ac.uk’ added at the end (e.g. abcd123@live.rhul.ac.uk) and your University password
  2. Go to the 'Enrolment' tab and click 'Photo Upload'
  3. Upload a photo which meets the technical and appearance requirements

To guarantee your Student ID Card is ready for when your course starts, the deadline is:

  • Wednesday 30 August 2023 for September 2023 courses
  • Wednesday 20 December 2023 for January 2024 courses

You can still submit a photo after this date but your card will not be ready for collection at the start of term, instead we will email you when it is ready.

Requirements for your photo

See our Photo Selection Guide for further details.

Receiving your Student ID Card

You will be emailed when your card is ready for collection, please wait for your collection email before attending the collection point.

If you submit and have your photograph approved by Wednesday 20 December 2023, your card will be ready to collect from the Student Services Centre, Emily Wilding Davison Building from 10am on Monday 8 January 2024.

If you are based at our London Campus, you will be contacted by lgs-school@royalholloway.ac.uk to confirm your collection details.

If you've previously studied at Royal Holloway

If you have previously studied at Royal Holloway or changed your start date, you’ll still need to submit a new passport style photo for use on your new Student ID Card; we cannot use your previous photo. Please note, failure to submit a photo will result in a delay in you receiving your new Student ID Card.
