Travelling to Royal Holloway
The easiest and most convenient way to travel to the College will depend on where you enter the country and your time of arrival.
For general information on the location of Royal Holloway and how to reach us, please take a look at our maps and travel directions.
You should also read the information below, which refers specifically to international students and the days that you should arrive:
Travel from Heathrow Airport
The nearest airport to Royal Holloway is Heathrow Airport. We offer an Airport pick-up service from Heathrow Airport on Thursday 4th January 2018. If you would like to use the airport pick-up service, please book a place. There is no charge for this service.
Students arriving at airports other than Heathrow cannot be met upon arrival. However, students can make use of airport link buses from these airports to Heathrow and then travel to Royal Holloway.
If you arrive outside of these airport collection days, a pick-up service is not available and you will need to make your own way to the College. It is recommended that you do not take a black taxi from the airport, as this will be very expensive. It is advisable to call a local taxi company, such as Gemini Taxis (telephone 01784 471 111 or email geminicars@btconnect.com) who will charge about £25 for a taxi from Terminals 1 - 4 and £19 from Terminal 5 to Royal Holloway. These rates normally apply from 6am- midnight. There is also a 'Meet & Greet' service for an extra cost where someone from the taxi company will meet you at the arrivals hall, information is on their website. Further information on travelling to and from the Egham campus can be found here Travel and transport.
Alternatively, make your way to the main coach station at Heathrow Central Bus Station and catch the number 8 bus from Heathrow Terminal 5 (timetable), which stops in front of the main campus.
Travel from other London airports
The other London airports are a very considerable distance from the College and you should be aware that travel by taxi from these airports will be £60 or more, depending upon the airport at which you arrive. The following websites will be useful when planning travel from these airports:
