Postgraduate opportunities
Research in the department spans a wide range of fundamental and applied areas of Physics. Links to the various research groups are on the right-hand side of this page.
Typically, we accept 10 students annually onto PhD programmes in our research groups. Studentships are funded by UK Research Councils, the European Commission, the National Physical Laboratory and Royal Holloway. We may also accept students who are self-funded or supported from other sources.
