Linking climate change and migration: Perspectives from human and physical geography

In recent years climate change has been identified as a key factor in driving internal and international migration, but this is not a new phenomenon.

In this session, Professor Simon Blockley and Professor Katie Willis explore the role of climate change in migration in the past and the present, including the role of environmental factors in the migration of early humans out of Africa, and the links between climate change and rural-urban migration in Asia in the present.

Time: 11am to 12 noon
Venue: Library
Lecturers: Professor Simon Blockley and Professor Katie Willis
