Our colleagues in the Department of English will showcase the diverse and extensive range of courses covering literatures across time and space at Royal Holloway; debate cutting-edge ideas in the field with you explore how you can create your own content too.

Experience what life is like in our friendly and lively Geography department. Professor Simon Blockley’s session will give you a taste of the broad range of aspects of both physical and human geography you can study with us. Find out how our flexible degree programmes allow you to explore a broad range of geographical topics, or to focus on particular areas of interest. Hear about the range of field work you’d take part in and the diverse range of study based in the UK and internationally as well as our state-of-the-art laboratories..

 

History

Our History courses offer an exceptionally broad range of subjects, enabling you to spread your studies across the medieval and modern worlds, from Ancient Rome through to modern China, from Saladin through to Margaret Thatcher, exploring topics as diverse as the Byzantine Empire, English family life in the sixteenth century, and international terrorism in the twentieth century. Dr Alex Windscheffel, Senior Lecturer in History, will take you on a historical journey, going through many periods, showcasing how we help you study your passion as well as develop essential skills of analysis, argument and communication.
