Celebration of Volunteering
Royal Holloway Community Action has been celebrating 15th years of Student Volunteering Week with numerous community projects for students to get involved with, Charity Chat lunch stalls to introduce new community partners (including local youth centres), a series of voluntary related workshops to attend, a special charity raffle for our chosen community partner Contact the Elderly, a Partners’ afternoon tea to say Thank you , and our VolunTREE which has been growing leaves all week from students responding to the #ivolunteerbecause national campaign and partners adding their messages of thanks to volunteers.
To conclude this special anniversary initiative our students have organised a community event called ‘Celebration of Volunteering’ at The Village Centre in Englefield Green. As we have an extra day this year they have scheduled it to take place on Monday 29th February. The event will feature live music, charity raffle prizes, film screening, a viewing of our VolunTREE, and first screening of footage from Student Volunteering Week, all in the setting of the open café venue. Please see poster attached and all are welcome to come along to this free event.
All funds raised by the charity raffle will be match funded by Santander, prizes include; meal for two at Runnymed on Thames Leftbanks, White Stuff vouchers, 2 X £10 Waitrose vouchers...
