Volunteers' Week 2017 will see Royal Holloway enter its second decade of hosting an annual week as part of
the national initiative. Volunteers' Week is an annual initiative when hundreds of events and celebrations will take place across the country to say thank you to volunteers, recognising the important contribution they make.
This year we are launching the week on the eve of Tuesday 30 May by hosting the Runnymede and Spelthorne Volunteer Awards 2017 on campus to celebrate our volunteers.
Furthermore each year hundreds of students contribute over one thousand hours to serving the local community. Community Action works in partnership with the Students' Union, Voluntary Support North Surrey, Runnymede Borough Council and a number of local charities and community organisations to offer a range of projects for students and community volunteers to get involved with. As most exams and coursework deadlines are over, why not do something worthwhile whilst having fun in the sunshine?
Our final project day of the 2017 acadmic year will take place on Wednesday 31 May. Projects this year include; a riverside clear up, litter collection in the local community, and helping to build planters in Egham.
