23 Things International is an online course that will introduce you to 23 digital tools and technologies to support your research work and career development.
It is a unique global collaboration for researchers at leading institutions around the world. It introduces you to tools and techniques to enhance your strategic thinking, productivity, and professional profile. For researchers of all disciplines and career stages it is also a wonderful opportunity to meet and collaborate with others in related disciplines around the world.
This programme started as an initial collaboration between University of Surrey and Otago University, and now includes Royal Holloway and other institutions in the UK, New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, Indonesia, and Singapore, as well as the Africa Research Excellence Fund, covering a whole continent. This means you will have the opportunity to engage with people from these countries and regions.
The programme will start on Monday 4th March 2024 with a live online Q&A. You will be assigned to a pod to work with others (if you wish) and each week two ‘Things’ are released for you to try out. Register here. You can find a bit more about how it works here.
In preparation, you can subscribe to the blog (to receive an email when each Thing is released) at the bottom of our
home page. You can also subscribe as a
site member (click the purple ‘sign up’ tab at the bottom right) to be able to use the forum to meet other participants. Site membership is processed manually once the programme starts.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Mike Rose (
