Royal Holloway has Turing Scheme funding from the UK Government to support participation in 4 week of life changing volunteering abroad opportunities with one of our partner organisations; Challenges Abroad and Think Pacific. Postgraduate students are now welcome to apply by deadline of 30 May.
Volunteering abroad will help develop skills such as teamwork, leadership, problem solving, communication and adaptability, whilst building your own confidence and resilience as a person.
Challenges Abroad are committed to ensuring their programmes are ethical and sustainable, and mutually beneficial to both you and the communities where they work, which is why all their programmes support the charity partner the Futuresense Foundation. The charity supports community development in some of the poorest regions of the world. With permanent teams in country all year round supporting projects, they aim to engage children with quality education and provide them with a sense of aspiration.
There are a number of programmes to get involved with including; Social Impact, Climate Action, Creative Arts, Business in the Community, and Health and Wellbeing. These are located in countries such as Cambodia, India, Nepal, Panama, Peru, Tanzania and Thailand.
Think Pacific offers for you to gain a global experience in the Fiji Islands in partnership with the Fijian Government. Volunteer to experience the unique culture, customs and way of life in the South Pacific islands. Make lifelong friendships and share memories on a challenging project, whilst developing unique skills and making a real contribution.
