The Doctoral School would like to offer up to three of our research students, ideally in the last couple of years of their PhD, the opportunity to be funded to attend the Life Beyond the PhD conference held this August. This will cover the costs of four nights of shared accommodation along with all meals during your attendance, plus a contribution to your travel costs.

The Life Beyond the PhD conference offers PhD students and early career researchers the opportunity to share their experiences with each other and to take part in invaluable training in communication, public engagement, and interdisciplinary working, while also being encouraged to think about the impact of their research within the wider context of society. The conference, held in Cumberland Lodge's fantastic facility in Windsor Great Park, also provides an inclusive environment for doctoral students to exchange experiences, practices and aspirations.

Please send the following to doctoralschoolroyalholloway.ac.uk by Wednesday 14 June 2023 at 11.59pm putting ‘Life Beyond the PhD’ in the email subject field:
- Your name and student ID
- A statement of up to 250 words saying why you would like to attend
- The awarding panel will look particularly favourably on applications which demonstrate specifically the impact the sessions at the conference would have on your development and plans post PhD
