Congratulations to
Professor Mark Brown, Department of Biological Sciences, who has been shortlisted for Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year in the 2023 Times Higher Education Awards. Professor Brown has actively encouraged students from less privileged backgrounds to continue into doctoral research and is committed to providing opportunities for the next generation of researchers and academics. Meanwhile, StoryTrails: The People's Metaverse has also been nominated in the 'Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences category'. The UK's largest immersive storytelling project was led by StoryFutures and was the result of a collaboration between a number of colleagues across a range of academic disciplines.
