Are you a PhD student in the Social Sciences? If so, the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) would love to hear from you!

The SeNSS would like to invite you to take part in a focus group to find out about your experience as a PhD student, and your views of collaboration with non-academic partners.

They are especially interested in finding out:

  • Your views of collaboration with non-academic partners such as businesses
  • Your views on whether your research would be suitable for collaboration and what support you might need to make it possible
  • Your thoughts and experiences of collaborations generally

Please note, if you have no experience of collaborations they are still very interested in your views.

Your views will be used to help the SeNSS to understand PhD motivations, experiences and support needs.  The next focus group is scheduled for 14th March 6pm – 7:30pm at 11 Bedford Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1B 3RE.  It is a short walk from Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road and Holborn tube stations.

The focus group should last approx. 90 minutes.  The SeNSS are inviting PhD candidates from institutions in the South East Network of Social Sciences (SeNSS-DTP)  so it will provide an opportunity for you to network with other PhD students and hear about their research.  Refreshments will be provided.

We very much hope you will consider taking part.  If you would like to book a place in the focus group, please email Nikki Pockett, SeNSS-IAA Business Engagement and Impact Officer at iaadtpessex.ac.uk

Please note that if the cost of travel is a barrier to your engagement in this event, please do let Nikki Pockett know as we may be able to assist with the costs.
