Emily Wilding Davison Building - Spring and Summer Term opening hours

To make sure we’re making the best use of resources, the Emily Wilding Davison Building's (EWD) opening hours have been updated for Spring and Summer term. Based on last year’s successful trial in collaboration with the Students’ Union and recent data, the building will stay open 24/7 during the peak assessment period in Spring term and throughout most of Summer term, with security in place overnight to support your safety and wellbeing. Please see the timetable below.

Outside of these peak times, EWD will continue to be open from 8am to 12pm (midnight) as it is during Autumn term. There will still be overnight study spaces available in Founder's Reading Room and PC Lab 1 in the Computer Centre – perfect for late-night or early-morning study sessions.

We will share reminders of the opening hours when they change across our communication channels – you can also keep up to date via the Library intranet page and by following the Library on social media.

These opening hours will enable us to work towards our environmental goals and make sure our core Library services remain available when you need them most. We will review the impact of these hours over summer to ensure they continue meeting all our students’ needs in collaboration with the Students’ Union.
