Sending mail
Stamps can be bought from a Post Office, the Union Shop and most newsagents and supermarkets. Royal Mail make collections from (red) post boxes and deliveries to your address every day except Sunday.
There is a post box outside the Windsor Building. If you have larger items you will need to go to the Post Office in Egham High Street, near Tesco.

Receiving mail
- If you live in Halls you can have your post delivered to the university. Make sure mail is addressed as seen below, paying particular attention to the correct postcode for the post room for your hall:

- Mail is delivered Monday to Friday.
- Letters are placed in pigeon holes under your surname.
Your letter post points are:
- Founder’s: George Eliot reception
- Gowar & Wedderburn: outside The Hub Post Room
- Butler, Williamson & Tuke: outside The Hub Post Room
- Reid: outside The Hub Post Room
- Runnymede: outside The Hub Room
- George Eliot: in the George Eliot reception
- Highfield: Highfield Common Room.
- Penrose: delivered directly via Royal Mail but please also check pigeon holes at Highfield Common Room.
Students should also regularly check their department mailbox for mail.
Fresh food delivery boxes (Hello Fresh, Gusto, Mindful Chef etc.)
If you order a fresh food deliver box please note that we do not have refrigeration within our Post Rooms and we cannot take responsibility for the safety of the food contents.
We would suggest that when ordering your food box from your chosen supplier, you choose a suitable time for your delivery to arrive that enables you to collect quickly.
The post room team will process your delivery as quickly as possible and you will receive an automated email notifying you of the arrival of your delivery.
Parcels and ‘signed for’ items
If you have been sent a parcel or an item to be signed for, you will receive an email to advise you. Parcels will be kept safe for you for 6 months after which time they will be returned to sender, donated or disposed of sustainably. All attempts are made to contact the recipient during this time if we have contact details.
- Founder’s, George Eliot, Highfield and Penrose residents: Go to the George Eliot post room between 9.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday or between 10am and 3pm on Saturdays with your student ID card to collect your item. The post room is closed on Sundays.
- Wedderburn, Gowar, Tuke, Williamson, Butler, Runnymede and Reid residents: Go to the Hub post room between 9.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday or between 10am and 3pm on Saturdays with your student ID card to collect your item. The Hub post room is also closed on Sundays.
