We are pleased to announce the launch of the new Research Ethical Review System. Following 18 months of development, the system will be available for use for all research staff and PGR students from Monday 18 of November. This system will replace the current staff and PGR ethical review system. From the 18 November researchers will no longer be able to submit applications via the old system.
The new research ethics system:
- Provides a mechanism to identify ethical risk as defined by the risk review framework.
- No longer allows researchers to self-certify their own research, this change brings us in line with the ethical review practices of the sector and the expectation of our funders.
- Improves the end user experience, both researchers and reviewers, as researchers can see the status of their review in real time.
To support the roll out of the system we will be hosting online training sessions for researchers, the session will focus on how to use the new system, please see the dates below:
- 5 November 1 to 1:30pm
- 13 November 1:30 to 2pm
Please register here if you would like attend one of the listed sessions.
All researchers will also have access to improved guidance which will be available on our revised webpages on the 18th of November.
