Please find below two opportunities, from autumn 2022, for PhD students to receive ESRC funding and work on their PhDs sitting alongside researchers at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Students are placed in the research team most closely associated with their own interests and are encouraged to take part in the intellectual life of the Institute.

 *PhD studentships*

IFS has been allocated a number of studentships associated with our ESRC Institute for the Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy. These are open to students with a place at any university associated with the UBEL or SenSS doctoral training partnerhsips. The student studies and is supervised at their university but also has a desk and mentor at IFS.

*Enrichment placements*

Any student at a UK DTP is eligible to apply for these ESRC-funded placements, which can last for between 6 months and a year. The funds are additiontal to any other funding the student receives, allowing them to spend the time at IFS, developing their skills and building networks.

 *Postdoctoral fellowships*

Working as part of one of our research teams, the fellowships can last for between one and three years: they may lead to a permanent research position at IFS; alternatively we will support the researcher if they wish to go on the job market for a university position. A couple of positions have funding only available to students at UK DTPs, so please encourage any suitable candidates at your institutions to apply.
