We recently shared that our Pure research portal, which pulls and presents the College’s research information to an external audience, would soon be upgraded. We are now pleased to announce that the new portal has launched.
Enabling researchers to gain a wider reach with their outputs and successes, the Pure portal showcases a breadth of important information, from publications, collaborations and grants to information on our departments.
The upgraded portal has some exciting new features, including:
- A more visually appealing portal, with enhanced presentation of research partnerships
- More fields of information displayed on personal profiles
- Increased visibility for research outputs via open access
- The ability to download statistics on public engagement
- The ability to link our research to UN sustainable development goals (this helps support the College’s Sustainability strategy)

How can I get familiar with the upgraded portal?
Using the Pure portal is an ideal way to showcase your research. To support the implementation of the upgraded portal, we have updated our resource page with guidance on accessing the system and enhancing your portal profiles.
If you are a researcher at the College, you will already have a basic profile, which you can enhance. Visit our dedicated webpages with hints and tips on how to do this, or come along to one of our ‘Enhancing your Pure profile’ training sessions. The sessions will provide a brief overview of the new functionality and include time for questions and advice. These will be run on Teams and are available to all staff and postgraduate researchers. Please email nicola.cockarillrhul.ac.uk to book your place.
Sessions will be run at:
Wednesday 16 November 11.00 - 12.00
Tuesday 29 November 2:00 – 3.00
What happens if I’m leaving the College?
The Pure portal is designed to showcase the activities of current post graduate research students and research staff. The upgraded portal will not display personal profiles for those who have left the College. However, information will still be retained on the Pure Admin system and records of your research outputs, projects and activities will still be visible on the Pure Portal. For further guidance, please visit our support page.
