Following the latest government advice and to keep everyone safe, our public spaces are now closed, including our Reading Rooms and galleries.

We’re really sorry to have pressed paused on your visits for now and we’ll let you know as soon as we can welcome you back here safely.

Until then, we’re always open online and there’s plenty to explore right now.

I've into our digital collections by selecting Available online in the search bar of our Explore catalogue and this will only return results that can be viewed online. If you have a Reader Pass you can access resources like EBSCO databases in business, humanities and social science subjects and Readex digitised newspapers.

You’re guaranteed a front row seat with our season of live events online. While you may not be able to visit our new exhibition, Unfinished Business: The Fight for Women’s Rights, for now, we have a packed events programme headlined by the foremother of contemporary feminism, Gloria Steinem, and with a little sparkle from inimitable country music icon, Dolly Parton. Missed one of our events first time around? Catch up or revisit your favourites on our new Player platform.

Our galleries may be closed but you can get a closer look at our exhibitions online.

Explore the wonderful treasures in Hebrew Manuscripts: Journeys of the Written Word when you take our virtual tour, or jump into our interactive UK map to discover locations linked to women’s activism near you on our Unfinished Business: The Fight for Women’s Rights web space.
