The newly refurbished space in Founder's East is to be named after Christiana Herringham, whose family built a close connection with Bedford College, one of our founding institutions. Christiana was an influential figure within the women's suffrage movement in the UK and was an artist, copyist and patron.
The Herringham Room will officially open on Monday (25 March), and aims to bring groups of colleagues and PGR students together, to work, relax and socialise individually and collectively.
Refreshments will be available from the SCR for colleagues to enjoy in the Herringham Room. In addition to the usual lunch service in the SCR, hot drinks and a selection of breakfast pastries will be available daily from 9-10.45am. Hot drinks and a range of cakes will be served for afternoon tea from 2.30-4.30pm.
