Exciting news! University Challenge is back and applications are now open! If you would like to apply to be on the newest series, which will be broadcast on BBC2, please keep reading…

After such a successful year, with Royal Holloway’s team making it to the broadcasted rounds of the latest series, we’re looking for a diverse range of quiz enthusiasts to represent Royal Holloway University in the next series and test their knowledge against the new host, Amol Rajan.

If you haven’t heard of University Challenge before, you’ve been missing out! Each university can put forward a team of four students, plus a reserve. The aim of the game is to achieve as many points as possible, which are awarded for correct answers and worth more if a bonus question is answered successfully. If you’re lucky and bright enough to make it to the live shows, you’ll be competing against 27 other teams. These teams are eventually whittled down to only the best who will then battle it out in the final to become University Challenge champions.

To apply to be part of the Royal Holloway team in the newest series, please complete the short quiz below:

Even if you don’t know the answers to all the questions, we’d still love you to send in an application! All you need is a willingness to give it your best shot, and some obscure knowledge never goes amiss either!

The next stage of the selection process is being tested again as well as participating in a group exercise to see how the team dynamic may work out. From there, we'll choose the four team members and one reserve member that'll make up the official Royal Holloway Team. You’ll then be invited by the show’s producers to complete another series of tests and answer a range of different questions, if you pass this stage then you’ve made it to the live shows!

If you think you have what it takes to claim the crown then please apply! Applications close on Friday 28 October.
