Find out ways to make your voice heard at University level!

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion working groups

We are deeply committed to improving culture and practices within our University and have created new strategy working groups to help us make positive change more quickly and in a sustainable way. Members of these working groups are passionate about equity and inclusion and work together proactively to explore opportunities, recommend priorities and co-design actions that have impact to ensure the University becomes an inclusive space where everyone can be their best.

  • Inclusive Culture and Environment

This group will strengthen work around removing barriers to participation and success; developing diversity-confident staff and students; ensuring the University is a safe and supportive space for everyone; celebrating diversity.

  • Inclusive Infrastructure

This group will recommend action to ensure that the needs of all groups are understood and catered for inclusively within the University infrastructure, including accessibility in relation to buildings and technology.

Student Union's Communities

Following the Community Officers Referendum in March 2023, students voted to replace 'Student Collectives' and 'Collective Convenors' with 'Student Communities' and 'Community Officers'.

The new Student Communities are autonomous bodies that are responsible for working with the SU to secure the general interests and collective rights of the students that define into the relevant group. There are two categories of communities, one for inclusion-based communities and one for academic-based communities.

They coordinate activities, events, and campaigns relevant to their agenda, which may include supportting and working across different student groups.

The RH100 is a large focus group made up of 100 student panellists from across Royal Holloway.
