The Community Research Hub is a Royal Holloway Volunteering initiative which provides students with the opportunity to develop research-related skills and gain valuable real-world experience, by creating partnerships with charities and other non-profit organisations requiring pro bono research and data analysis.
The Village Centre, or VC as it is affectionately known, is a community centre and so much more, right in the heart of Englefield Green and within easy walking distance of campus. They very much needs someone who is able to spend time investigating different grant and funding options to see where the Village Centre is best placed to apply. They have three main outreach programmes running from the Centre; Child Contact Centre, Baby Basics Service and Community Fridge & Kitchen - however, they find it difficult to apply for core funding to keep the building running. They would ideally want someone to investigate what funding opportunities are available to them and to compile and follow through an application.
If this sounds of interest to you, then an online meeting between the partner and any interested students will be arranged within the next two or three weeks. Please register your interest on the Volunteering Platform and email the Community Research Hub to be sent the meeting link.
