The library is still working hard to provide as many resources digitally where possible. We have permanently added nearly 500 new eBooks to our collection. Additionally we have set up temporary access to nearly 70 new databases. This includes temporary access to a further 35,000 eBooks through JSTOR.
If there is any book you need access to for your research that we don’t currently provide a digital copy of please email Library Liaison with the title and author and we’ll do our best to acquire it for you.
We are also providing 1-2-1 appointments online to support you with your research and referencing. Details on how to book these and the latest updates on our service provision can be found here
Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, the Library have put in place measures to make sure that they are able to continue to offer as many of their services as possible online.
Access to the library:
- Following an announcement by the UK Government regarding libraries, the library, archives and exhibition space are now closed. This also includes Founder's Reading Room.
- Please hold onto any books you have out on loan. Do not return them to the library. All books should have a return date of 30th September 2020. This includes. We will review this closer to the time.
- If you have books on loan but are graduating this year, so may not return to campus again, we will provide details on how you can return these books in the future.
Online Resources/access:
- Senate House Library are now allowing all University of London staff and students to sign up online for access to their digital resources. You no longer have to go into the building to verify membership.
- The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies are allowing free access to their online resources for any academic and any PhD/MPhil student. This includes a huge numbers of law eBooks from a number of different publishers.
- Students who are not currently registered at IALS Library can easily register remotely without the need for the usual letter introduction which is being waived during the coronavirus crisis.
