Study space within the Library
Did you know that there is a dedicated PGR area in the Library? You will find it on the second floor, near the Terrace, to the rear of the silent study space directly opposite the stairs. If you're looking for a quiet space to study in the Library, make this your first stop.

Founder's Reading Room
Founders Reading Room is open for individual, silent study. It can be accessed via the South Tower and will be open 24 hours a day providing you with a place to study overnight when the Emily Wilding Davison building is closed.
The space is unstaffed, but will be regularly monitored. If you require emergency assistance, please contact Security on 01784 443888.
Social / collaborative working space
The SCR in Founder's is open to postgraduate researchers and staff from 8am - 4pm to use as a social and/or collaborative working space.
Recharge zone
The Recharge Zone is located on the ground floor of the Windsor Building. The space is open to relax, recharge or study. There are microwaves available to heat your food.
In 2023/24, this space is available 24/7 during Term 2 and Term 3.
Computer Centre
The space provides phone charging stations, printers and computers. Be aware that there are not many clear desks if you don't want to use a desktop computer.
In 2023/24, PC Lab 1 is open 24/7 during Term 2 and Term 3.
Shilling Building
The common area in the Electronic Engineering building is well-decorated and is perfect as a co-working zone.
Study space within your School
Most Schools offer some dedicated study space for their postgraduate researchers. Please view your department appendix for more details or contact your Department Postgraduate Lead, School Director of PGR Education or School helpdesk for more details.
Tommy's Lounge, Students' Union
Open every weekday (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9am-10pm and Wednesday and Friday 9am-6pm). For students looking for a chill space to study, the newly refurbished Tommy's Lounge is the perfect space for you.
Imagine
Located in the beasement of The Hub, this is a good place for co-working.
