You have several options open to get support during working hours

Doctoral School

If you are struggling and you’d like to discuss what support the Doctoral School can offer, please contact us. 

  • By email: doctoralschool@royalholloway.ac.uk - manned 9am-5pm Monday to Friday
  • By phone: 01784 276886 - manned 10am-4pm, Tuesday to Thursday. You can leave a voicemail outside these times and a member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible afterwards.
  • In person: visit our helpdesk in room S-105, Founder's South Tower on Tuesdays between 10am-4pm.

Wellbeing Support

Wellbeing support offers non-clinical advice and guidance to students. They co-ordinate the right support or signpost / refer you to others within the department for longer term or more specialised support. You can also contact them if you are concerned about another student so the right person can reach out to offer support and guidance to them. To seek support, please contact the advisers by email.

Financial Advice

Financial Advice offers advice and guidance on a variety of financial matters to students. For more information, you can email them.

International Advice

The International Advice team offers advice on visa and immigration information. For more information, please contact them.

GP Surgery

Royal Holloway's on-site GP surgery for students, operated and managed as a branch GP surgery of the NHS Clarence Medical Centre in Windsor. Appointments with the GP surgery can sometimes be arranged at short notice in an emergency via the reception team. To contact them, please email or call +44 (0) 1784 443131.

Disability & Neurodiversity

The D&N offers clinical support for students. Please contact the D&N for further guidance on the support they can provide.

If you are registered with D&N, you can discuss reasonable adjustments for your viva with them.

 

Mental Health

The Mental Health Practioners team offer specialised mental health support for students. Please contact the team for further guidance on the support they can provide.

Student Counselling

Student Counselling offers counselling or therapeutic interventions to students. The Counselling service usually reserves a session every working day in term time for students in immediate distress. Counselling is highly confidential, but the service reserves the right to mobilise other support if someone’s life or health is in immediate danger. If you would like counselling, please contact Student Counselling to register and book an appointment with a counsellor.

Multifaith Chaplaincy

 The chaplains work with students and staff of any faith or none. Please contact Mr Shaikh or Ms Jackie Barber for more information on the support the Multifaith Chaplaincy can offer.

Hall Life

Our Hall Life team promotes and supports a positive experience for all students living in our halls of residence.

Active Lifestyle & Sports

Keeping active can help reduce stress, develop friendships and support your mental wellbeing. We have something for everyone, no matter your experience or confidence level.
