The Financial Wellbeing team offer advice and guidance to help you manage your money throughout your studies and provide support to students experiencing financial difficulties.
Who are the Financial Wellbeing team?
We are part of the wider Wellbeing Department at Royal Holloway whose role it is to equip you with the resources and support you need to look after your mental health and wellbeing while studying with us.

Our Office: Room 140, Founders East
Opening hours: 10am - 4pm, Monday to Friday
We operate an open door policy and therefore we are happy to see students in our office at any time during opening hours.

What we can support and advise you about
Students come to us with a wide variety of questions and problems that they are facing with their finances and we'd be happy to meet with you no matter what the query.
In general, our services can be split into the '3 As'
Advise
We provide advice on several key areas of student finance including
- Accessing student loans and other funding opportunites
- Budgeting and financial capability
- Tips on reducing your costs of living
- Debt management
- Accessing student bank accounts
- Working while you study
Advocate
We know that accessing all the funding and support that you are entitled to can often be difficult and time-consuming.
The Financial Wellbeing team is here to advocate on your behalf where you need support.
This includes
- Speaking with Student Finance England or other external funding organisations to solve disputes and delays
- Working with colleagues across the University to ensure you can access bursaries and scholarships
- Collaborating with other departments at Royal Holloway to make sure that financial difficulties don't stand in the way of your academic success
Award
The Financial Wellbeing team manages several funds at Royal Holloway that allow us to make awards to directly to student to help during times of financial difficulty.
These include
- The Study Support Grant
- Short-term loans
- Other emergency interventions
