The  28th United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly known as the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCC (COP28), takes place between Thursday 30 November - Tuesday 12 December in Dubai.

As parties embark on the COP28 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai in UAE, this annual event acts as a stock-take designed to assess the state of the climate crisis and the progress the world is making in terms of adaption, mitigation, and fundamental reduction in fossil fuel consumption. The choice of Dubai as summit location has generated unease from others given the UAE’s significance as a site of and for oil extraction.
