British Airways data breach


 

British Airways said approximately 380,000 card payments were compromised after a security breach occurred on the company’s website and mobile app in August.

According to the airline all affected customers were notified about the breach on Thursday 6 September 2018.

The compromised data includes personal and financial details of the customers. These data includes name, address and bank card details like CVC code.

Update (26 October 2018)

British Airways said that the data breach first reported in September is larger than initialy thought.

An additional 185,000 users have been added to the data reach.

Be aware that there are phishing campaigns trying to take advantage of the data breach to further steal information about the users affected.
