From 12 June, we are introducing some improvements to the way MyView works for students and staff. If you’re working for the University whilst studying, you’ll be familiar with using MyView for submitting timesheets. We are bringing in some changes to the system, which will increase security and improve functionality.
The key features being introduced are:
-
A change to the way you access MyView. We are bringing in single sign-on, so that once you login with multi-factor authentication (MFA), you will not need to sign in to MyView separately. This is similar to many other tools and systems you already access around the University.
-
The launch of a new MyView app. Once downloaded, you will be able to use the app to check your payslips and do everything else you would usually do on the system. Find more details about accessing the app below.
-
Some new and improved functionality within MyView – detailed below.
Will there be any downtime?
On 12 June between 12.30 and 17.30, there will be a period of downtime as we launch the improved system. During this time, you won’t be able to access MyView.
What will the changes mean for me?
From 12 June, you will need to use MFA to login to MyView. Using MFA will mean that once you have authenticated, you won’t need to sign in to MyView separately. When you authenticate with MFA, you will need to use your ‘staff’ login details (rather than your normal student credentials) to access the system. You can find more information on MFA on our IT webpages.
From this date, you’ll also be able to download the new app; you’ll find instructions on how you can do this below.
How will MyView look different?
When the changes are implemented, you will see a few improvements within MyView:
-
MyPay Pro - gives you dynamic online pay documents with improved functionality, download capability, and interactive graphics to compare your pay.
-
MyView Notifications - deliver notifications for key events including when payslips are available, work anniversaries and birthdays.
-
FAQs – answers to your most popular queries relating to pay.
How can I access the new MyView app?
The new MyView app will allow you to do everything you usually do on the system, but from your phone. You can access it by:
|
|
Apple App Store Users
|
Google Play Store Users
|
-
As with the web portal, you will need to authenticate via MFA to login to the app.
-
Once downloaded, you will need to enter a ‘registration code’.
-
To get the registration code log into MyView > Account (top right next to log off) > Register for mobile app.
-
You will then be prompted to login with your normal University username and password.
-
Your phone will need to have PIN or Biometric authentication enabled for this app to work.
-
Guidance on installing the MyView app is available.
