The Royal Holloway Sport community received exciting news last week, as we have been nominated for two BUCS Football & Futsal Awards. Royal Holloway Sport has been shortlisted in the 'Enhancing Student Experience' category for the Learn2 Women's Football Programme, a free weekly session run by student activators aimed at introducing beginner skills and gameplay for women in the university community.
Emma McClement, Student Coordinator for the Campus Football Leagues, has been put forward for the 'Outstanding Contribution' award, which is incredible recognition of her dedication to enhancing the student experience of football at Royal Holloway. The Campus Football Leagues offer regular competitive matchplay for a whole range of skill levels, and has seen over 350 students play this year.
The BUCS Football & Futsal Awards aim to "shine a light on the amazing work of institutions, initiatives and people who have enhanced others’ lives through the power of Football", and this is the first year since 2019 that the Awards have been run. The award winners will be announced at the BUCS Football Development Network Day & Awards at the University of Warwick on 21st May.
