As part of the COP26 activities on campus, we will conduct a simple economic experiment simulating a fictional world that has to tackle a climate crisis. Each participant becomes leader of one nation and the world has ten years to reduce carbon emissions to avoid disaster. The duration of the session is approx. 30-45 minutes.

There is real money at stake and some participants may walk out of the experiment with a non-negligible amount of money. How much depends on their decisions, the other participant’s decisions and luck. But do everyone’s personal incentives align with what is best for the planet?
