MRI Scanning Experiment taking place at the MRI Unit, Psychology Department at Royal Holloway:
We are looking for volunteers to participate in a functional magnetic resonance (fMRI) study. The study will take approx. 90 min in total (approx. 40 min in the fMRI scanner) and you will be reimbursed with £20. Your task will be to do two simple tasks (respond to tones and pictures by button-presses with your fingers) simultaneously and to memorize letters. Please note that you must be right-handed and over 18 years of age to participate.
The study will take place at Royal Holloway on Fridays, between 9.00am and 5pm.
Two very important notes:
1) Because MRI works with strong magnetic fields, persons with magnetic metal in their body cannot take part. Metal tooth fillings are usually fine.
2) MRI scans are very expensive (£350/h). Please make sure you arrive in time. If you need to cancel the scan, please don’t do so lightly, and let us know as much in advance as possible.
To book a convenient timeslot or ask further questions about the study, please contact Pauldy Otermans (Pauldy.otermans@brunel.ac.uk) from Brunel University London.
