THE NATIONAL STUDENT SURVEY IS NOW LIVE!

Calling all final year undergraduates - complete the survey and help share the future of Royal Holloway.

This annual national survey is open to all final year undergraduate students. It is your opportunity to share your experiences to help us ensure everyone has the best possible student experience at Royal Holloway now and in the future.

Professor Wyn Morgan, Interim Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience) says,

“By taking a few minutes to fill out the survey and share your thoughts, you will be contributing towards positive changes across our University community. Thank you for taking the time to feedback on the quality of our teaching, support, and resources so that we can keep improving the student experience at Royal Holloway.”

Once you've completed your survey you can collect a free Class of 2025 laptop sticker at your School Helpdesk!

Why is the National Student Survey important?

Help us improve the University

It’s an opportunity for you to share what it has been like to study your course and your overall experience at Royal Holloway. Your feedback will directly influence decision-making processes and strategic planning for the future. Your input guides us in allocating resources, implementing new initiatives, and making improvements that directly benefit you and future generations of students.

Every department will make an action plan to respond to the feedback from these surveys. You may have seen some examples of ‘you said, we did’ around campus recently.

Help prospective students decide where to study

The responses you give in your survey will help prospective students when deciding where to study. By completing your survey, you'll be letting them know what your overall Royal Holloway experience was like.

What is the Sexual Misconduct Survey?

This year after completing the National Student Survey you will be asked if you would like to take part in the Sexual Misconduct Survey (SMS) pilot. If you choose not to take part in the SMS your responses to the National Student Survey will still count.

What does the Sexual Misconduct Survey ask?

If you choose to take part in the Sexual Misconduct Survey you will be asked about your experiences of sexual harassment and sexual assault or violence, your experiences of reporting these incidents, and about relationships between staff and students.

Some of the language used in this survey is explicit and some people may find it uncomfortable. But it is important that we ask questions in this way so that it is clear what is meant.

Such questions are clearly marked with content warnings throughout and can be skipped entirely if preferred.

Why is the Sexual Misconduct Survey being run?

The aim of this survey is to understand whether university students have experienced either sexual harassment and/or sexual violence since they became a student, either within or outside a university setting.

The SMS is commissioned by the Office for Students (OfS), the independent regulator of higher education in England. It is administered by Ipsos.

How can I remove any mention of the Sexual Misconduct Survey from my National Student Survey?

If you would prefer to remove any mention of the SMS from your survey, you can email thestudentsurvey@ipsos.com before starting the NSS.
