The Global Leadership Programme (GLP) is an exciting extra-curricular programme to help you develop your skills to working cultural difference through experiential learning and reflection.
You'll explore citizenship and leadership in a global context as well as inter-cultural competence. The programme includes:
- Workshops
- An exhibition event
- A free residential trip to another country worth £1,500
You'll get a Certificate of Completion at the end of the programme, Passport Points, some fantastic experiences and great examples for your CV.
Can I apply?
You can apply for the Global Leadership Programme if you're an undergraduate who will graduate next year (in 2018). You can be studying any subject, and you don't need to ask your department to apply.
There's only a limited number of places, so we have an application process to award places on the Programme. We're looking for students that have:
- A professional attitude, including ability to meet deadlines
- An interest in social, ethical and political issues across the world
- An open mind and willingness to immerse in new experiences
- Reflective skills
- An interest in developing problem solving skills
- An interest in working collaboratively

Once you've applied, we'll shortlist candidates to attend an assessment day on Monday 24 April 2017. The assessment day will include group exercises, presentations, interviews and psychometric testing - a great opportunity to get experience of the application process when you're applying for jobs after you graduate.
From the results of the assessment centre, successful applicants will be offered places on the programme.
Where will the residential trip take me?
Last year the trip was to Berlin. The details of this year’s residential trip are still being finalised – watch out for an announcement soon!
