Travelling to Graduation


Find out how to get to our Egham Campus

Planning how you travel to Graduation is essential. With limited parking on campus and our commitment to our environment, we encourage graduands and guests to find alternative travel routes to campus if they can. 

Public Transport

We strongly encourage graduands and guests to use public transport to travel to graduation. Our campus is well connected by public transport links that should make it convenient to travel. You can find out more information on public transport below, or on our travelling to and from campus page.

Trains

The closest train station to the University is in Egham, about a 15-minute walk from the campus. Egham station is on a main line connecting London Waterloo and Reading. Trains from Egham to London Waterloo take about 40 minutes, and trains from Egham to Reading take about 45 minutes.

You can book train tickets to any railway station in the UK from Egham using the National Rail website.

There are also several buses that travel from Egham to Royal Holloway.

Several local bus services run outside Royal Holloway and serve the bus stops on the A30. They are as follows - you can click them below to find their schedules:

441: Staines – Egham – Englefield Green

442: Heathrow Bus Station – Stanwell – Staines – Egham – Englefield Green

500: Staines – Egham – Sunningdale – Windlesham – Camberley – Frimley Park Hospital

8: Heathrow Terminal 5 – Staines – Egham – Windsor – Slough 

Cars

If you are travelling to campus by car, please limit the number of cars you bring due to the very limited parking space on campus.

If you are driving to campus, please download, print and display our Parking Permit in your windscreen before arriving. Our traffic marshals will then direct you to the suitable car parks.

Accessible Parking

Disabled parking is provided on campus. You can find a disabled parking permit here. Please print out and display the permit on your dashboard when arriving on campus to help our parking team direct you to the correct car park.
