What are your opening hours?

I've heard there is a Royal Holloway Sport app, how can I download this?

It’s really easy to download the Royal Holloway Sport app from your smartphone or tablet device. For iphone, ipad or apple users, head to the Apple App Store, and for Android users, head to the Google Play Store and search for Royal Holloway Sport.

What do I need to set up my Royal Holloway Sport app account?

To set up an account, all you will need is your university email address - firstname.surname.year@live.rhul.ac.uk. 

How do I set up and log into my Royal Holloway Sport app account?

Once you have downloaded the Royal Holloway Sport app, open it and select My account. All current students of Royal Holloway will already have a university account so you will need to select Reset password and enter your university email address to receive an email where you can set up a password for your Royal Holloway Sport account. Once this has been set up, you will be able to log in to your account through by selecting My account on the app homepage and entering your log-in details. 

Why is my email not recognised when I try to reset my password?

This may be due to you using the incorrect email format, for a student this is likely to be firstname.surname.year@live.rhul.ac.uk. To check the email address, we have for your account please speak to a member of staff at the sports centre. 

How can I purchase my Royal Holloway Sport membership?

To purchase a membership please visit the Royal Holloway Sport app. 

If you are a student, you are already set up with an account, to access please visit the ‘forgot your password’ link. Once you have reset your password you will then be able to log in to your account and purchase a membership, book classes, sessions, and facilities. 

What is an RCP membership? 

Recurring Card Payment- this means every month the same amount will be taken from your saved card details to pay for your membership

Can I freeze my RCP membership?

No, unfortunately you are no longer able to freeze your RCP membership. 

Can I cancel my RCP membership?

Yes, however if you are looking for a short-term break in your membership a freeze may be a better option. If you would like to cancel your membership, please complete the form here

Can I set the day I want my RCP for my membership to be taken?

When purchasing your membership you can choose your start date, following this your payment will be taken on the same date each month.

Can I get a refund for my annual membership?

There is a 14-day cooling off period if you change your mind about your membership purchase, however after this you are not eligible for a refund. Please see full terms and conditions for refunds. 

What does the Royal Holloway Sport app do?

With the Royal Holloway Sport app in your pocket, you’ll always have quick and easy access to book your favourite activities and facilities at the Home of the Bears. Get up-to-date information, news, activity, and facility timetables, offers, events and receive push notifications for important news.

How do I book an activity through the Royal Holloway Sport app?

Select Book from the app homepage to view the different categories of activity we have on offer. Select a category, then Book now which will take you to our activity timetable where you can select the activity for you and book your place. 

Do I have to book to attend an Active session or Group Exercise class?

Yes, to guarantee entry you must book in advance via the Royal Holloway Sport app. 

Do I need a membership to attend an Active session?

No, however if you have a Pay as You Go membership you will be entitled to a discounted rate. These activities are for students only. 

Do I need to have a membership to book a group exercise class?

No, however if you have a Pay as You Go membership you will be entitled to a discounted rate if you are a student or concession member. 

How do I book a facility through the Royal Holloway Sport app?

For any adhoc (single) bookings, select Book from the app homepage, and then Facilities to see the different facilities you can book. Select the facility you would like to book, then Book now where you will be able to see the availability timetable for the facility and select the time you would like to book. Any block booking enquires, or event requests should be made to sportsbookings@rhul.ac.uk

How do I book a grass pitch?

Grass pitch booking requests should be made to sportsbookings@rhul.ac.uk

Do I need a membership to book a badminton court?

No, but if you are a student or eligible for a concessionary membership you will be entitled to a discounted rate. 

How can I join a student sports club or society?

Our clubs and societies are run by students themselves with the support of the Students' Union. For more information on available clubs, please visit the Students' Union webpage or the Compete section within the Royal Holloway Sport app. 

Are there any jobs or volunteering roles available at Royal Holloway Sport?

We offer a range of different casual paid and voluntary positions throughout the year. You can find out more information by selecting Join the team from the app homepage. Any current paid role vacancies will be listed here.

What if I’ve forgotten my login details?

Your university email address is (insert format of student university email address). If you have forgotten your password, select My account from the app homepage and select Forgotten your password? to enter your email address. An email will then be sent to you to reset your password.

Where is the Sports Centre?

The Sports Centre is located off Prune Hill, at the bottom of the University’s Egham campus behind Gowar & Wedderburn and Runnymede Halls. It is accessible by foot, bicycle and vehicle.

Where is Jane Holloway Hall?

The Jane Holloway Hall is located halfway down the west side of the University’s Egham campus, in between Founder’s building and our Eastfield grass pitch. Once arriving at the Sports Centre, the Jane Holloway Hall is accessible by foot and bicycle. See videos to access Jane Holloway Hall from Founder’s square or the Sports Centre

I am worried about my mental wellbeing - where can I find support?

If you are feeling overwhelmed, we have support services from our Student Advisory and Wellbeing team where you can discuss any concerns, issues or worries you have whether it is about you or a friend. Please contact us via email if you would like to chat with an Advisor who will be able to listen to your worries and help you in getting the right support for you. If you are really struggling with your wellbeing and don’t feel you can keep yourself safe please contact 999 and speak to an operator who will be able to get you immediate support.  

Furthermore, it is proven that our mental health and wellbeing are assisted and improved by exercise and diet. We would always encourage you to try and get in some form of exercise in order to improve your mood and wellbeing.

Can I use the app outside of the UK?

The app can be used outside of the UK. If you are looking to set up an account, membership or book an activity, this can only be done within the UK. 

What is the maximum capacity in the gym?

Maximum capacity at any one time is 60 people, at this point a one in one out process will be adopted.

What is BUCS UNiversal and how will I know if am I eligible? 

As a student or staff member of a UNIversal Gym institution, you can access multiple facilities across the United Kingdom. This benefit is open to our annual members, you can find out more about how to register here
