Ruth has worked in both regional and national cultural institutions, mainly in museums.
She now oversees public programs at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York.
Their programs are broad-reaching and seek to explore the continued impact of 9/11 today, from its impact on TV and culture, to the rising wave of white supremacy domestic terrorism in the U.S.
She discusses pathways into museums, experience/qualifications needed, what types of jobs exist inside museums, the positives and drawbacks, the difference between regional and national institutions, and how COVID-19 has shaped the sector.
