Many of us are feeling that this lockdown is particularly hard, especially with the demands of a busy term two. This is why the College and the Students’ Union (SU) have set up drop-in Q&A sessions via MS Teams for students every Wednesday at 5pm until the end of term to connect, hear your views and answer questions. The sessions will be chaired by SU Vice President of Education Alissa Chohan, and she’ll be joined by James Knowles, Deputy Principal (Academic), and Jon Howden-Evans, Director of Student & Academic Services. Find out more below.
Target audience: All taught students, UG and PGT
Scope: Students are encouraged to join and discuss any topic; but the sessions have been set up primarily to support students’ academic studies and wellbeing
Participants: The sessions will be hosted by Alissa Chohan, VP Education at the Students’ Union, with at the first session, James Knowles Deputy Principal (Academic) and Jon Howden-Evans, Director of Student & Academic Services. It’s planned that, at every meeting, there will be representatives who are able to hear views and answer questions from the academic and student experience areas of the College
Date and time: Every Wednesday at 5pm to the end of term (last one planned for 24 March)
The effectiveness of the sessions will be reviewed prior to that date and a decision made on whether to extend the sessions.

Structure: There’s no agenda, this is meeting for us to connect. Students who wish to be heard can raise their hands to ask a question, preferably with their cameras on. Depending on the number of attendees and questions, we will also try to get to questions or points posted in the chat. There may be some issues raised that can’t be answered in the meeting and we will follow up with those individual students.
