On Friday 4 March, the Universities and Colleges Union (UCU) announced that they will be taking additional strike action from Monday 21 - Friday 25 March.

We are disappointed that the UCU industrial action coincides with the last week of term when many of you have assessment deadlines, and when you may be looking for additional support from your lecturers. As a College, we find ourselves in a very difficult situation; we recognise colleagues’ right to take strike action, however, we are unable to unilaterally resolve the disputes around pensions and pay. Nonetheless, we will continue to seek to minimise the impact of any action on you, our students.

Given the disruption many of you have faced over recent weeks and years, we are very mindful of our responsibility to mitigate the impact of any strike action by either making up for lost learning, or taking account of any missed learning in assessments.

If you are concerned that the action has impacted your studies you should, in the first instance, speak to your personal tutor, or your School Office.
