Whilst you enjoy your Summer break, many of our University services will remain open with adjusted hours and dates. Please find our Summer opening hours below.

Careers

  • The Careers Hub will be closed from Monday 10 June until Friday 20 September. We will continue to offer online appointments and practice interviews throughout the summer during weekdays. These can be booked through the Careers Portal or by emailing careers@rhul.ac.uk. The Hub will re-open on Monday 23 September for in-person appointments and drop-ins.

Wellbeing Services

Support is available if you need it, our Wellbeing teams will remain available over the break however they will be operating an adapted service. If you are unsure which team you need to speak to, or have a wellbeing concern you can contact them by emailing wellbeing@royalholloway.ac.uk.   

  • Online and in-person drop-ins will pause on Friday 7 June and will re-commence on Monday 23 September.  

  • All teams will remain on campus over this time and are available for booked in-person or online meetings each weekday. Initial contact should be to individual teams by email or in person. You can find contact details here.  

  • At all times you can also access help and support from external support networks. Learn more. 

Togetherall is also available 24/7, every day. We encourage you to register today to check it out. On the platform, you can take courses, read articles on wellbeing topics or give and get support from fellow students. The community is supported by clinical experts who keep everyone safe and who you can reach out to for support should you need it. To register for Togetherall, click here.  

Emergency support options are detailed here including details of mental health crisis lines, support via Student Space (Student Minds) and a range of support from other external organisations and charities.  

 

Library

The Library in the Davison Building will remain open throughout the Summer Vacation opening from 8am-12am daily.  

  • LiveChat services will be available as normal during this time.   

  • Founder's Reading Room will remain open 24/7 with swipe access.   

  • You can still search our physical collection of materials and access digital materials online, on any device through LibrarySearch. In addition to this the Library has a number of major databases, which you can access via the Databases A-Z page.  

  • You can easily contact the Library, including through our LiveChat. You can get help searching, referencing and evaluating resources from Our friendly Information Consultants   

 

Volunteering Hub  

  • The Volunteering Hub is closed outside of term time, however the Volunteering team can support you with enquiries via email . The team will return in person at the start of the academic year

  • Throughout the Summer break you can find local volunteering opportunities on their online platform.   

 

IT

Our IT team are here to answer your technical queries. You can call, use their live chat or email them at  ITservicedesk@royalholloway.ac.uk. Find out their opening times, or use their LiveHelp service to speak to someone online here.  

From 14 June to 19 August

  • No weekend cover at IT helpdesk in the Library 

  • Normal service in the Library Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm 

  • LiveHelp support between 12-5pm Monday to Friday 

 

Sport

The Sports Centre and Gym will be open throughout the Summer break. The summer opening hours for the Sports Centre are: 

  •  Weekdays 7am – 9pm 

  •  Saturdays 9am – 4pm 

  • Sundays 10am - 4pm 

If you have a student membership with Royal Holloway Sport, you can access the BUCS UNIversal gym scheme and gain access to over 70 university gyms across the UK, subject to their opening hours, free of charge. Learn more.   

Download the Royal Holloway Sport app to access memberships and make bookings for the various facilities at the Sports Centre, including the Sports Hall or MUGA, for your personal use. Keep up to date with Royal Holloway Sport by following @rhulsport on Instagram.  

 

CeDAS 

  • CeDAS offers 1:1 writing tutorials for postgraduate project and dissertation writers through the summer period. To make a booking, go the CedAS Academic Skills hub page on Moodle and select the page for your school

 

Hall Life

  • Hall Life run a revised service during the summer with no Hall Life evening drop-ins running. The team are available via hall.life@rhul.ac.uk for any hall life issues or you can access the Guide to Living in Halls on the Royal Holloway app.
