You will be granted a Visitor visa for 6 months when you reach the UK.
We recommend that your passport has at least 6 months validity remaining before you travel.

Application times can vary according to where you live and the time of year, so make sure that you apply as early as possible to avoid any delays.
You can apply for a Visitor visa up to three months before you need to come to the UK, but no earlier.
If you are travelling with family members who require a visa, then they will need to apply for a Visitor visa too.
