What is Turnitin and how do I use it?

Turnitin is a plagiarism detection service. Royal Holloway requires students to submit their coursework through Turnitin where it is then compared to other submitted work, web-based resources, digital books and e-journals to generate an originality report which highlights similarities in content.

Before submitting work via Turnitin you should complete the Avoiding Plagiarism course on Moodle. This course will give you information on Turnitin and how and why you need to use it. If you have specific questions about Turnitin you should contact your academic department.
