How do I set up eduroam for Windows 10?

eduroam is a wireless network service offered at Royal Holloway and participating universities across the UK, Europe, and the world. eduroam allows Royal Holloway students and staff to connect to wireless internet at participating institutions and allows visitors from participating institutions to connect to wireless internet on the Royal Holloway campus.

Whilst eduroam is available on campus we recommend you use CampusNet while at Royal Holloway.

Windows 10 requires a brief setup procedure:

  1. Open your web browser and visit cat.eduroam.org
  2. Click on the “download your eduroam installer”.
  3. A window will appear asking you to select your organisation. Search for and select “Royal Holloway and Bedford New College”.
  4. Eduroam should automatically detect your operating system and auto-suggest the correct installer. Download and run the installer. If you think the auto-suggested installer is the incorrect one for your device you should select “choose another installer” and pick the correct operating system from the list.
  5. You should be prompted for your username and password. Remember to input your username in the format @rhul.ac.uk eg: abcd123rhul.ac.uk
  6. Select the ‘eduroam’ network from your wifi menu. You will be prompted for a username and password. In the username field you should enter your University username (four letters and three numbers, e.g. abcd123) with the suffix ‘@rhul.ac.uk’. Your password is the password you use for all other University services.
