How do I map a drive on Windows 10?
To map a network drive to your PC you will either need to be on campus and connected to CampusNet or if you are off-campus using the VPN.
- Open File Explorer
- Select This PC from the left-hand side of the window.
- Click on the Computer tab that has appeared and select Map network drive.
- In the Drive list, select the letter you want to map to and in the Folder box, type the address of the drive you are trying to access. There are:
Drive
Network path
Drive purpose
Y:
\\mydata.rhul.ac.uk\home
Your personal files
W:
\\myweb.rhul.ac.uk\home_pages
Personal webspace
- Press Finish.
- You will be prompted to enter your username and password. Your username is four letters and three numbers (e.g. abcd123). This will map your drive.
Please note some computers will require you to add a domain before your username. If you have been unable to log in, please add cc\ before your username (e.g. cc\abcd123) and try again.
