How do I install ArcGIS?
ArcGIS is a tool you can use to make maps and analyse data.
We have introduced ‘Single Sign On’ (SSO) when using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro at the University. This allows staff and students to access both tools.
How to get access:
- You will then have an account created on ArcGIS Online and you will be allocated a license to ArcGIS Pro.
- You can download ArcGIS Pro from your ArcGIS Online account by going to the following home page: https://royalholloway.maps.arcgis.com/home/user.html. From here, visit ‘My Profile’ (click on your account name on the top right), ‘View my settings’ and then choose ‘Licenses’ on the left hand side of the page (shown below)
- On the Licenses page, scroll down the list of licensed software until you see ‘Download ArcGIS Pro’. Download the installation file and then install the software.
Special note:
Before installing ArcGIS Pro on a virtual or physical machine, ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements to run it. Also, learn what resources are recommended to get the best performance. Find out more on AcrGIS's webpage.
