Community & Culture

This funding strand is designed to open up opportunities for individuals or student groups not affiliated with the Students’ Union to lead on a one-off cultural event or recurring activity that will contribute to the sense of community on campus, and develop a strong cultural presence in the local area.

Examples of projects include:

  • Hall Life projects that enhance the residential experience in Halls and promote social cohesion
  • Cultural events (e.g. theatrical or musical performance) organised by students outside of the academic domain or the Students’ Union
  • Training for an independent student group (e.g. The Student Workshop, TEDx) to build on their activities and increase their impact on campus
