Dr Nathan James Dearden Music Performance Manager

  • Curates and manages the College’s International Concert Series. If you want to create your own performance opportunity, feel free to get in contact.
  • Coordinates and tutors the Concert Management Programme (for those enrolled onto an Undergraduate Performance course)
  • Coordinates the internal Instrumental & Vocal Tutor lessons, monitoring attendance/student welfare and managing the Lesson Agreements between tutor and students
  • Manages External Instrumental and Vocal Lessons and Tutors. Those taking lessons with an external tutor will regularly see Nathan to be reimbursed.
  • Primary financial lead for music performance activity.

Nathan will be in the Music Performance Office (Wettons Terrace Room 1-10), Monday & Tuesday, with drop-in hours of 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Arrange a meeting or contact him via nathanjames.dearden@royalholloway.ac.uk.

Prof Mary Dullea Director of Performance

  • Primary Course Tutor and coordinator for all music performance-based courses at the College (exclusive of ethnomusicological performance)
  • Manages Instrumental & Vocal Tutors and student welfare within this, in conjunction with the Instrumental & Vocal Tutor Coordinator.
  • Supports and advises the Music Performance Manager on the College’s International Concert Series.
  • Manages the College Instrumental Scholarship programme.

Mr Rupert Gough Director of Choral Music & College Organist

  • Conducts the Choir of Royal Holloway, Royal Holloway Chorus and is Musical Advisor for the Founder’s Choir of Royal Holloway
  • College’s resident Choral Conducting and Organ tutor
  • Manages the Choral and Organ Scholarship programme 
  • Curates and directs the weekly Midweek Music Series and manages the Choir of Royal Holloway’s performance opportunities, tours and recording obligations

Mr Andrej Ivanovic Choral Administrator

  • Coordinates and lead administrator for all choral activity at the University.
  • Lead administartoive lead for the Choir of Royal Holloway. 
  • Front-of-House Manager for choral events at the University.
  • Manages publiciity and promotion for choral activity at the University.

Mr James Mark Music Performance Administrator

  • Oversees the maintenance of Woodlands Building and all of College performance spaces.
  • Main point-of-contact for student-led music groups.
  • Responsible for maintenance and protection of the College’s large collection of musical instruments, including the College’s Steinway keyboard collection. 
  • Front-of House Manager for music events and manages the Front-of-House Team.

Ms Rebecca Miller Director of Orchestras

  • Conducts the Royal Holloway Chamber Orchestra and Royal Holloway Symphony Orchestra
  • College’s resident Orchestral Conducting tutor
  • Manages the new Orchestral Scholarship programme, directs the side-by-side projects with the London Mozart Players

Dr Lliam Paterson Graduate Fellow in Collaborative Piano

  • Accompany the Performance Classes to which you are assigned.
  • Lead, coach, direct, inform and work with Royal Holloway performers.
  • Liaise with and give support to the Director of Performance who also leads the pathway in postgraduate Collaborative Piano

Dr Tom Wagner Fellow in Music Performance

  • Module convenor on several undergraduate music performance modules, including MU1118 and MU3407. 
  • Supports the Director of Music Performance in assessment and feedback of music performance modules.
